Entries for July, 2010

Sometimes you have to give people things they don't deserve. Like Forgiveness. Respect. Love. It's called being a bigger person. Not bigger than the one you give the thing to, but bigger than yourself - bigger than what you're supposed to be. It's how you grow.

Nagbukas ako ng friendster kanina, out of curiosity. To my surprise there are still lots of people who are active there kahit na matagal nang lumipas ang fster glory days. Not that hindi ako makamove-on, but I really think na mas ok ang connectiong nagagawa ng multiply. Facebook kasi I find na parang disposable ang feeds nya due to its fast-paced nature.

And I am not a loser (haha) so I berated myself - anubayan ang kitid naman ng pag-iisip ko. Maybe there are still those who prefer it than fb for some reason, like the ability to personalize your profile (or loyalty? haha charos), at hindi ko sila dapat i-judge. Kanya-kanyang trip lang yan.

Friendster seems like such a long time ago. The pictures, the people.. yung ako dun, parang hindi na ako. The oldest profile picture I have there is one when I was seventeen. MYGAHD I'M SO OLD SEVENTEEN IS WAY WAY WAY BACK IN THE PAST! HAHAHA. Haha gets nyo yung ganung feeling?

Ok back to social networking sites. I wonder what will become the new FB. Haha something that would allow video chats and phone calls? skype + sns integration ba. It's amazing, the speed of technology. Isn't it just five years ago where flash drives are almost unheard of and we are contented with the use of floppy disks? Floppy disks, the words themselves are so long ago! Ambilis ma-phase out ng mga bagay-bagay. What's next? 3-D computer monitors (God forbid!) HAHA tas kelangang iupdate lahat ng website into 3-D. hmmm challenging yun a. I miss webdesigning. ayan nagdiverge nanaman ako.

Even if technology moves as such a fast rate, there are still a few things that hardly change at all. Yesterday I got an FB pm from an old gradeschool friend, inviting me to her birthday party. 11 years na kaming hindi nagkikita imagine! HAHA. there are still that threads of connection na hindi nase-sever, no matter how fast technology becomes, or how fast people change.

"a talaga? paano? small world!" haha okay so ampangit kong gumawa ng enieni dialogue but I hope you got the point anyway. :))

Wow ang haba ng post na to, not the twitterish posts na lagi kong chinuchurn out. Ilaveet. I really should write more often.

Procrastination sounds like a disease. I have long been battling procrastination and I never seem to win :( It really ithe hardest, when what you are fighting against is yourself.

As in kahit one year lang sila nagsama nung gradeschool at college/grads na sila ngayon, connected pa rin sila nambonggz.

HAHA. Minsan hindi talaga maiiwasan yung magddrift apart kayo. People change, circumstances change. Pero yung hindi mo man lang pinag-effortan na i-keep yung friendship, that's different. And that's what I regret.

HAHA. I love my closestfriends to bits. They're the best; they're like family. I'm so blessed to have them at sila talaga yung bonggang ineeffortan kong i-keep ngayon. In the future kapag uugod-ugod na kami at just in case hindi na kami as close as before or wala na kaming alam sa isa't-isa, hindi ko yun ireregret dahil alam kong binigay ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya (meganun?) para mamaintain yung friendship. Malulungkot lang ako, pero no regrets.

Nakakainggit talaga pag nakakita ka ng group of lolas and lolos tapos malalaman mo na since childhood pa sila friends.

Shouldn't we praise someone (im thinking about the wangwang issue) because he is doing his job EXCELLENTLY and not just because he is merely doing his job?

KAMON. E hindi naman pala talaga pwede yang mga wangwang na yan tapos we act like noynoy's some messiah to banish those wangwangs na hindi naman talaga dapat nageexist in the first place. So hello police, san kayo nagtatago alam nyo ba in the first place kung sino lang dapat gumamit ng mga wangwang. Because to tell the truth, i didn't know either; i thought government officials were allowed to use them (officials higher than mayors). it's just a simple rule to follow: only the President, Vice President, Senate president, House Speaker, and Chief Justice* are allowed to use vehicles attached with sirens, bells, horns, whistles and similar gadgets that emit exceptionally loud or startling sounds, including dome lights and other similar signaling or flashing devices attached to motor vehicles and only motor vehicles designated for the use of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, National Bureau of Investigation, Land Transportation Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and hospital ambulances can be fitted with sirens, bells, horns or similar gadgets. (presidential decree no. 96). Why is this being so hard ohmyshit what a culture.

We really have this normalcy that those in government don't do their jobs, therefore when they actually do WE PRAISE THEM TO HIGH HEAVENS when it should just be the status quo. And their rewards should be, not individual recognition (example, a newspaper columnist lauding his efforts) but the status of the nation per se (as evidenced by rate of progression, merong global comparison things na ginagawa right, parang yung human index thing ohmyshit im bangag) I mean ayun nga, yung manifestation nun ay mas progressive tayo or at least kalevel ng ating mga katabing bansa.

It's great though, that the wangwang thing has been brought to attention pero hindi ba tayo pwedeng magmove-on na from that? Keep on reporting those unnecessary wang wangs, yes. Keep on those catching those who are not allowed to have wangwangs, yes. But please, tama na ang focus dito. Hacienda Luisita naman!

Whenever i start to justify my laziness/incompetence with, "I could be worse," I immediately counter myself with, "But I could be better!"

I hope you think of that, too.
