One of my biggest fears is that my friends will be tremendously more successful than me (financially) and I won't be able to catch up and it's inevitable that they'll cut me off from their lives and I'll end up resenting them.

We are still at this stage where we are relatively the same financially but give it a couple more years and... well. It's just sad.
